“Mature In Christ”

To the Church at Colossae, Paul writes, “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” (Col. 1:28-29)

Paul spent his days and night struggling with all his energy so that people would know Jesus more. Maybe that meant him preaching in the synagogues or meeting with believers from house to house. Whatever it looked like, it was Paul pouring out his energy and time so that believers would grow. This is a model of the true pastor that we want to emulate here at Christ Fellowship. We don’t want to settle for empty moral lessons on Sunday morning or shallow conversations with the members of the church. Our desire is for us to teach Christ, speak Christ, and long for Christ with one another daily so that we become more like Him.

We pray God uses this blog in your life as a tool to become more like Jesus. There is no desire for our voices to be heard or for our fame to be spread. We simply desire for Christ to be made much of (“Him we proclaim”) and for the church to grow in Christ-likeness (“mature in Christ”). So if you are a believer in Christ know that every typed thought, quoted author, or Scripture passage on this blog is for you to treasure Christ more. So please read often, read thoughtfully, and read to be like Christ.
